LIFTPRESSPULL” (working title 🤪) started as a fun practice exercise. I recently got back into lifting and have been running Jim Wendler’s 531 routine. The only problem is it requires a lot of weight calculations and progress tracking.

Since I’m not a bring-a-notebook-to-the-gym guy, the next best thing was looking for an app. I’ve been using a basic Javascript calculator (BlackIronBeast) but it requires me to leave a tab open on my phone 24/7 (and manually update numbers every few weeks). There had to be a better way!

At this point in the process I was approaching the design as just a 531 calculator.

I soon realized I actually wanted to build this with a friend and that building a 531 app is well, illegal.

Now our goal is to make a lifting plan builder. Add exercises, adjust reps and sets, etc. All with the same goal of keeping it simple and straightforward.
